Overview:
This is a fun two-part teambuilding event designed to demonstrate how negative thoughts can prevent us from achieving our goals.
When facing a challenge, our preconceived ideas greatly affect how successful we are. Negative thought processes formed during our early years can affect the way we approach other challenges, especially those we face in the work environment.
Part 1:
This session has been designed to tackle self-limiting beliefs by enabling delegates to create their own watercolour painting.
Everyone is taught four simple techniques so that they can create a landscape watercolour painting, bringing new insights for those facing the "I can't do it" syndrome.
Module 1. At the start participants mark themselves on how well they think they will do. On completion they mark their finished work, on average doubling their predicted score.
Module 2. Working in groups of four to a table a series of exercises give an opportunity for participants to work together to create a composite painting. This involves the teams making decisions about who does what and of course encouraging and coaching those less skilled so that they can achieve their full potential.
Module 3. Participants use the learnt techniques to create a watercolour painting that represents their future aspirations/dreams/goals Delegates are then encouraged to share and expand upon their vision with the whole group.
Part 2:
Is an interactive, energetic, noisy and always fun presentation that uses the teaching of a series of carefully selected circus skills to bring new insights into how attitude and approach affects performance when facing challenges.
Working in teams, delegates are taught four circus skills and are encouraged to develop a supportive learning environment in which it is:
- ok to ask for help
- to share their newly learnt skills
- to acknowledge others successes
Later on each team will be asked to demonstrate their newly acquired skills in a showcase to be viewed, of course, by the whole group!
Juggling - Amazing progress is made when delegates realise that juggling is all about concentration not co-ordination, improving their throwing not catching and how a complex skill can be broken down into easy manageable stages.
Spinning plate - A positive approach to getting things wrong - a mistake is seen as part of the learning process, enabling delegates to achieve what at first sight seems to be the impossible!
Flower Stick -This discipline is an opportunity to build confidence quickly. Delegates are encouraged to use this confidence so that they can be even more successful in other areas.
Diabolo - One to one coaching is given with this skill, and this provides a great opportunity for delegates to see just how effective personal coaching can be.
Note: This is suitable for groups of 15 to 100 participants.
