Overview:
Inspired by popular crime programmes, this is a fun and unique team building morning or afternoon gets guests working together on the other side of the crime scene tape. This event is a chance for teams to go behind the scenes where they'll get an insight into the fascinating world of crime and forensics.
Under the guidance of experienced professionals (former Scotland Yard Detectives, Crime Scene Investigators or Forensic Scientists) guests will become detectives and attempt to locate and extract evidence, interpret findings and solve the case.  Quick learners and good team work will lead guests to the truth.

The Case: Solve the crime
An aristocrat has been found dead in his country mansion.  The crime scene leaves many clues that will enable you and your team to find his killer. As Crime Investigators you will leave no stone unturned, and will be guided through this amazing adventure will be former detectives or Crime Scene Investigators. You and your team will learn the techniques required to enable you to collect and examine evidence, leading you to determine which suspect is responsible!

Format:
The event starts with an introduction from a Crime Scene Investigation expert, giving a crash course into the world of crime and policing and an outline of the case and suspects (the exact details and suspects themselves can be personalised to your company for added enjoyment.)  Everybody gets kitted out in full body suits, masks and gloves, and throughout the day teams will learn cutting-edge techniques using real-life forensic tools. Teams have the opportunity to visit the crime scene to retrieve pieces of evidence, and then working together they will use what they have found to draw a conclusion about the murder. The event concludes with each team presenting their results and prizes are awarded to the winning teams.

Recommended Activities:
Throughout the day, teams complete the following activities to piece together the crime:

Forensic Dentistry (45 minutes)
Guests can really get their teeth into this.  Teams cast suspects' teeth and needs to try and match them to bite marks found at a crime scene.

Fingerprint Dusting (60 minutes)
Learn how to be a fingerprint expert in an hour, using professional forensic kit. Guests will be taught how to lift prints using powder, brushes and specialist equipment. Compare prints at the scene with the suspects' prints.

Blood Splatter Pattern Analysis (60 minutes)
Guests learn how to interpret blood spatters. See how (fake) blood reacts on different surfaces to work out where the attack came from and which weapon was used.

Photofit - Using FBI Software (30 minutes)
Making a photofit picture of the suspect is not as easy as it seems, this activity certainly gets the brain working.

Ballistics (30 minutes)
This fascinating science will show how to discover whether or not bullets have come from the same weapon. Using specialist microscopes you will examine different bullets and cartridges.

Hair & Fibre (60 minutes)
This sort of evidence can make or break a case. Take hair/fibres from a crime scene and try matching it to a suspect.

Overview:
The concentrated Crime Scene Investigation experience sees you become a Scotland Yard Rookie. Enter the field training school and get to grips with an intense Crime Scene training course.

Examine crime scene evidence and learn how to lift fingerprints and identify characteristics that make fingerprints unique. This is an ideal 'ice breaker' for events, conferences or as part as a team building day.

Overview:
Our Crime Scene Investigation dinner experience brings a unique twist to your typical dining experience. A crime scene is set up in the dining area, and throughout dinner guests will learn real forensic science processes, retrieve and examine evidence from the “crime scene,” and work in teams to decide which suspect is responsible for committing the murder. Unlike a murder mystery dinner, our Crime Scene dinner experience is based around solving the crime through the eyes of the crime scene investigator. Using real forensic science procedures and carefully devised detection processes, this fun and engaging way to dine is sure to be a huge hit with everyone. The dinner is created in such a way that guests can enjoy the meal in a relaxed manner, whilst emerging themselves as much as they wish into the fascinating world of Crime Scene Investigation.

Format:
Drinks reception
Guests will arrive to a drinks reception, during which they will prepare to be Crime Scene Investigators for the evening:
- Get dressed into the authentic white Forensics suit (to prevent cross-contamination of course!)
- Guests are divided into teams and enter the “lab.”

Starter
- Briefing about a murder which has taken place.
- Silver Crime Scene cases containing an array of invesigation equipment, quizzes and suspect profiles are on the tables – one per team.
- Guests are able to relax and enjoy their food whilst looking through the case and completing the crime/forensic science quiz sheet at their leisure.

In between starters and the main course, guests participate in a fingerprint workshop, under the expert guidance and tutorial of our highly professional and experienced trainer (you may even get someone from New Scotland Yard!) Guests also learn to dust for fingerprints using modern state-of-the-art fingerprint techniques. Fear not – hygiene and cleanliness are of top priority so you won’t be eating with dirty fingers afterwards!

Main course
In the Crime Scene cases, guests will find suspect profiles and throughout the main course, which is eaten at leisure, teams must start discussing the murder and try to piece everything together ready for the conclusion later.

A crime scene is already set up in the room, complete with crime scene tape and evidence ready for retrieval. This element of evidence retrieval and examination adds an exciting authenticity to the evening. Guests are trained in hair and fibre analysis, and digital microscopes are set up with slides containing hair and fibres which have been removed from the scene – examine these closely and guests will be one step closer to solving the crime.

Guests are encouraged to physically enter the crime scene, and carefully retrieve evidence to examine.

Desert and coffee
- Teams must now work together to draw a conclusion based on what they have discovered throughout the investigation/evening.
- A laptop is given to each team, loaded with actual FBI software. Teams must make a photo-fit of the suspect they think is responsible.

Throughout the evening, teams get awarded points for each activity they complete. It is at this point that all the teams come back together and discuss their conclusions.

- A full debrief is given, points totalled and prizes presented to the winning team.
