Overview:
This multi activity day allows for the whole team to experience a range of motorised and non-motorised activities that will guarantee team work and an overall enjoyable experience sure to be a change from the usual working environment!
Groups have the choice of four motorised and four non-motorised activities to chose to part in from the list below:
4x4 Off Road Driving
In groups of four teams will power across the countryside behind the wheel of a 4x4 vehicle, each getting a chance to take control of the wheel.
Your experienced instructor will give you a full safety briefing and brief demonstration before letting you loose behind the wheel of a Land Rover Extreme Discovery. Expect to have your driving skills put to the test as you drive around an incredibly challenging course of banked slopes, large water traps, and tight turns. You don't need a full driving license to take part, although some experience behind the wheel would be highly beneficial.
4x4 Blindfold Driving
It's been illegal to drive blindfolded on public roads since 1987 when a driver wearing a sleeping mask caused a pile up on the M1. However, on private land, under the guidance of expert instructors it's perfectly legal to drive even if you can't see!
In groups of 4, you'll be behind the wheel of a Land Rover Discovery and will have to negotiate around a challenging off road course featuring steep banks, water traps and plenty of mud. Everyone will get to don the blindfold and take a turn behind the wheel and when you're not driving, you'll be directing.
The driver will be totally disorientated so responsibility lies with the rest of the team to shout instructions. However this is easier said than done as helpful words like 'left', 'right', and 'stop' will be banned and replaced with other less obvious monikers. Excellent communication skills and trust are key, although it's fair to say if the team start screaming, it's probably time to hit the brakes!
Air Rifle Sniper Shooting
After a briefing from instructors everyone will get a few practice shots to familiarise yourself with the weapon. Once the instructors are happy that everyone is up to speed, you'll fire away in a competition against the other members of your group.
You'll be blasting at a variety of dangerous targets including dolls and silhouettes of real people. Points are awarded for each hit, so expect competition to be fierce as everyone vies to be the top gun. There'll be a bottle of bubbly on offer for the winner so take aim and fire!
Archery
Armed with a longbow and under the watchful eye of a qualified instructor the group will be taught all the tricks of the trade. Always a great event to get the competitive juices flowing, you'll be shooting at (paper) human targets and there'll be a bottle of bubbly as well as bragging rights for the winner.
JCB Digger Driving
Your instructor will give you a crash course in how to drive the digger and control the all important digging arm, before letting you loose in the vehicle.
You'll take part in groups of 4, with each of you taking turns behind the controls. Whilst attempting to manoeuver the 1.5 tonne digger against the clock, everyone will be competing to dig the biggest and best whole in their allocated time limit in a bid to be crowed 'King of the Diggers'.
Quad Trailer Reversing
Is speeding around on a quad bike obstacle course is a little bit too simple for you? Then try doing it in reverse... blindfolded...or even when towing a trailer.
Once the group has had a full safety briefing, everyone will take it in turns to be securely blindfolded and let loose on the quad. Your only assistance will come in the form of two of your colleagues standing on the back of the trailer safely navigating you through the slalom, limbo poles and other assorted obstacles.
This exercise is built on trust and excellent communication, and it's essential that you work as a team to avoid flattening any of the course markers.
Knife Throwing
Knife throwing involves serious skill and with the guidance of an experienced instructor your team will learn how to throw like pro's.
After a safety briefing you'll be armed with a variety of different blades and will be given a demonstration by the instructor; learning the techniques and plenty of top tips on how to nail your target. the group will throw in pairs at a series of standing targets of varying heights and distances. Expect competition to be intense as everyone vies to be the best blade slinger.
Quad Safari
Enjoy the mud and thunder of an exhilarating quad biking session.
Equipped with a helmet everyone will get a full safety briefing from instructors before having a brief practice session on the training track to familiarise yourselves with the speedy Polaris bikes.
Once everyone is up to speed, you'll head off along a thrilling woodland circuit following an instructor in groups of 4. Be prepared to have your riding skills pushed to the limit around the woodland circuit which features tricky water traps and plenty of mud. There'll be opportunities for you to full throttle, but the tight turns and steep banks will challenge even the most experienced quad biker.
Sumo Suits
Ever wondered what it would feel like to be a huge Japanese sumo wrestler? Well, this is your chance to find out...
The aim of sumo is incredibly simple; push your opponent out of the ring by any means possible. Any hand-to-hand combat is strictly illegal; it's all about using your bulk.
This hilarious activity will have your team in stitches as you waddle around the ring all in the name of sport. See who has the guts, and gut, to become 'King of the Ring?'
