Brief
HMV have previously used Chillisauce to organise events for new store openings. On this occasion, HMV enquired to Chillisauce about organising an event to integrate existing staff as well as welcoming new employees into brand new stores at Westfield Shopping centre. Their objectives were to boost team morale whilst improving communication and team work.
Chillisauces thinking
Chillisauce suggested a full day Crystal Challenge at Old Deer Park in Richmond with brainteasers and challenges, breaking for coffee and lunch. The event was wrapped up with a presentation and prize giving for the winning team as well as a debriefing session to address any business issues and feedback.
The Finer Details
We chose this type of event as it employs a broad range of physical, mental and dextrous skills and plenty of teamwork. It is also fun filled and allows staff to feel relaxed and at ease.
During and after the activity the group were encouraged to consider some of the following issues; leadership skills, levels of involvement and engagement, co-operation/team play, Planning vs action � thinkers and doers, any team dynamic changes and how differences of opinion are handled.
Feedback on the event
'I spoke to everyone about it on Thursday and everyone seemed to have really enjoyed themselves. We could definitely see the benefit in terms of how they all worked in teams together on the Thursday having had the team build event first. There's not really anything I can think of that I think needed to be improved. I'm sure we will be in touch next time we have something similar to arrange!'
