What they wanted
The Halifax wanted to provide their staff with an event that was suitable for all levels, ages and interests and would be a reward for all their hard work. It has to be fun, original but also serve as a team building event gelling their team and testing their planning, delegation, time management, initiative and communication skills. A tailored version of our Limo Treasure Hunt to matched their needs perfectly.
The event
In their work environment, many of the guests stuck to their peer groups and this was an opportunity for staff to have fun, and work together as a team with colleagues they did not normally socialize with. They also had to plan and delegate well to ensure they had any chance of completeing the tasks set for them in the alloted time. The Limo Treasure Hunt tests communication, initiative, creativity and much more but your guests would not know; they are too busy having fun!
What they said
The Halifax had such a great time they kindly offered a very comprehensive feedback document.
What we established from this is…..they had a ball!
What did you personally take away from the day?
Really demonstrated how well we all work together – some of the daytime activities highlighted different skills people have and how successful we can be when we pull these together (but then again, I was on the winning team.) It also made you feel really rewarded for the hard work given this year.
Lots of fun, laughs, great team spirit. Personally I was on Cloud 9 all day long and had a fizzy head for 2 days! Nothing new there then.
Made some new friends. Made me feel valued as a member of Advisory Sales.
It was great being chauffeured round – felt like we were really being spoiled. It's great to let your hair down and have a laugh and I think this is a good way of motivating people as everyone gets a reward. I told all my friends about it and they're trying to persuade their bosses to treat them.
I worked with people not in my usual team and I was really "wowed" by the whole day and really did feel valued
What were the highs?
Winning … and the photo poses
Wow factor when introduced to the limos. Turning up at B&Q in a limo and the B&Q staff's reaction
Limousine and champagne. The activities. Everything
Meeting up at lunch-time with everyone else at the bowling. I have never taken part in anything similar with any previous departments and it was a fantastic day – thank you
Everything – as one of the organisers I didn't think we could expect anything to have gone better – everything came together really well
What were the lows?
Not winning
Operational risk not getting a mention in the morning presentation
Not thinking quickly enough to come back to LP and use the internet to get the quiz answers
Having to leave at 5pm
