What they wanted
BT needed to organise a celebration event for a group of people who'd been working hard for 18 months and had just successfully completed a major project. It was to take place in or around Bath for about 40 guests and they wanted to arrange a full day's activities with a private dinner and overnight accommodation.
The event
The group arrived at Coombe Grove Manor for refreshments and then headed out to the grounds to participate in some exhilarating activities. With experienced instructors, each team rotated around Honda pacer karts, quad bikes, blindfold driving, crossbows, human table football and diffuse the bomb, scoring points as they went. They enjoyed a buffet lunch and afternoon refreshments and at 4.30pm the winning teams were announced and awarded medals and a trophy. They later relaxed with a private three course dinner and drinks.
What they said
Isabel, this is just a brief note about the event you organised for me on Thursday 25th June. We had an excellent day and everything went perfectly, and there were many grins, on many faces, during it.
The location was excellent, impressing everyone, and all who attended were very happy with the hotel which did a great job.
Thanks go also to Paul and the other activity guys, who were very approachable and friendly, and made sure the events were safe, well organised and went smoothly. Everyone enjoyed them all, (even though my shin is still bruised from the football;-) although he didn't follow my instruction about my team not being allowed to win!
Thanks also to yourself and Chillisauce for putting it together for us. In the evening everyone was congratulating me on what a great job I'd done in organising it. My response was that it wasn't me who organised it, but Chillisauce, and that if it hadn't been for your organisation it might not have worked out quite as well.
It has been a pleasure dealing with you. You should know that I had made enquiries with around eight event companies at the same time as I contacted you. Each had been given the same outline. The reason that I went with yourselves at Chillisauce was because you came back to me promptly, which was something none of the others did, with a proposal that we were able to build upon and develop. I also appreciated the fact that you, personally, were so tolerant of the vagueness of my requirements, the number of attendees, and the dates/changes of dates as the event developed from an outline plan into a firm delivery.
At all times you have built a good working relationship with me by keeping me informed and responding when you'd said you would, by understanding my requirements and proposing alternative solutions when appropriate, but most of all by being approachable and friendly. We have never met face to face, but it seems like we have done.
