Gold of the Desert Kings addresses the issue of effort versus productivity. Participants are placed in circumstances with limited time and resources and must rely on their team to achieve their goals. The pressures and anxiety experienced in Gold of the Desert Kings are similar to those experienced daily in a hectic work schedule. Participants contend with deadlines, a perceived lack of resources, others' point of view and the pressure to just do something while trying to accomplish team objectives.

The Scenario:
Teams rush to compete against each other in this challenging race across the desert. Their goal? Battle the elements such as super heat and sandstorms to get to the mountains and mine as much gold as possible before returning home alive. Teams are forced to be as productive as possible with limited time and resources. Participants will experience the benefits of teamwork, planning, setting goals and taking necessary risks.

As representatives of Scotland Yard, participants in Lord Devon's Demise work on a realistic crime scene investigation set at a grand English estate. By combining commercial capability and cultural skills, Merlin recruited "Elders" to sit on the Council of the Marble Star. Participants will have the opportunity to take part in
"The Challenge of Excelleron" exactly as it took place back in the days of Camelot. A high energy, high impact learning experience where teams role play as a construction company who are in charge of building a bridge that will preserve the precious wildlife and coral reef of Turtle Island. Coral Banks is an engaging, two hour experience that provides participants with a hands-on lesson in effective teamwork. Participants must operate together as a single organization, as individual teams, and in sub-groups, to complete the construction of an enormous model bridge. They will recognize the power of collaboration, understand the impact of both team process and spirit, and realise the importance of sharing resources and knowledge to accomplish goals and achieve great results.

The Scenario:
Turtle Island is the habitat to an expansive and beautiful coral reef which was discovered a mere ten years ago. Within this decade, tourists have flocked to Turtle Island to swim in the reef and observe the fascinating wildlife that inhabits the underwater world. The increasing popularity of the previously untouched island and its surrounding waters is creating an environmental concern. Zoologists and marine biologists are quickly observing the rapid decay of the finely balanced ecosystem. The concerned citizens of the islands have called in the long standing and highly reputable "Coral Banks Construction Company" to assist them with maintaining the tourist industry while preserving the beauty of Turtle Island. The company's main focus is to build environmentally friendly bridges that allow people to witness the beauty of nature without destroying it in the process. Coral Banks Construction Company has developed a plan for a large bridge to Turtle Island which will keep the reef safe from pollution and the wildlife free from danger while allowing people to enjoy the coral reef.

Miro Assessment

Overview:
Chillisauce offers interactive and rewarding facilitated workshops which require participants to undertake a range of thought provoking team challenges whilst analysing and evaluating their own behavioural modes, through the personality profiling technique MiRo (pre-event on-line assessment), and how these impact on others.

We also help to foster an environment where team members will have a chance to raise topics and issues for open discussion around a specific central theme of strategic importance.

Opening Energizers and Introduction to team performance

Johari Chairs
Participants sit in chairs and form a circle. The facilitator stands up and begins by making a statement about himself. Anyone for whom this statement is also true stands up and moves to another chair. The person left standing repeats the process with a new statement.

Human Grid
Participants place themselves on a human grid to show colleagues their personal preferences about life, work and the way they prefer to approach tasks.

Introduction to MiRo - knowing yourself and team
Introduction to Behavioural Modes
Participants will learn all about individual and team behavioural modes. The session explores how we develop our personalities, through inherited traits, experiences, value decisions and external influences. Participants will look at what can be measured in the way of four behavioural modes and how those modes impact on self and others.

Team Mapping
Once all participants have been given their MiRo profile results, they will plot themselves on a 4 profile team map. These results will identify individual motivations, fears, methods of communication and leadership styles. This session will help each member of the team to explore their behaviours and discuss the positive and negative impact these may have.

Next step...Facilitated Activities:

The University
Participants are divided into ‘faculties' according to their behavioural mode. Each faculty is to construct a faculty building designed to give students coming into the university a valuable experience. They must decide what subjects are to be taught and what teaching methods are to be used. Then they present their building and prospectus to the main group. All faculties will produce an advertising campaign using posters, TV advertisement and slogans to attract more students to the university.

This activity is a way for the teams to describe their working approach and explain to the wider group what it is they bring to the team in terms of strengths and the value they add.

Appreciative Inquiry
The team are asked to identify what they do well to discover and build on their greatest qualities. Participants are encouraged to explore a range of topics; the group will then develop strategies to improve communication, customer service and understanding both. By viewing the team as a vibrant, healthy and constantly evolving entity they can grow into the best they can be.

Continuous Facilitation:
Ongoing Performance Dignostic
Participants will be given Performance Diagnostic Sheets and asked to ‘diagnose' their performance on each challenge throughout the day. They will be given feedback by observers on which behaviours were used to best effect and which were not. They will be asked how this translates back to the office.

Teams do not instantly work out that it's essential for them to work together and this gradual realisation culminates in a "light bulb" moment and the penny drops. The event culminates in a giant group activity where they all get to play a game of their own creation.

The activity takes on so many different elements and disciplines it will be essential for all teams to use their individual skills to come together successfully as one big team. Teams are forced to be as productive as possible with limited time and resources. Participants will experience the benefits of teamwork, planning, setting goals and taking necessary risks.

Throw a six to start addresses key team problems and facilitates learning in a fun environment. Guests will realise the importance of improved team work and productivity. Participants are placed in circumstances with limited time and resources and must rely on their team to achieve their goals. The pressures and diverse demands experienced are similar to those experienced daily in a hectic work schedule. Participants contend with deadlines, a perceived lack of resources, others' point of view as well the pressure to work within the constraints of a variety of roles and personalities.

The Scenario:
Teams have to design, produce and market a giant board game. Tasks include purchasing of key parts from the wholesalers, re-enacting parts to the story line and solving challenges and puzzles to gain more information and equipment. Design, pricing, production are on the product teams task. The boardroom buzzer is sounded to begin project meetings at key points within the event to allow evaluation of team work, change management, areas for improvement and facilitation.

Each team will have a list of key responsibilities within a tight timeline which will be essential to their and more importantly the teams success. It will become clear as the event evolves that it is impossible for the teams with the time and resources to produce the board game in their individual teams and will discover the aim is to produce a final product together as one team.
