BBQ Bootcamp

Overview:
An extravaganza of smoke, fire, food, and camaraderie, an exciting opportunity for you and your team to fully learn and understand the art of barbecuing in a fun and friendly way. Teams will have the time of your life becoming Master Grillers!

This BBQ class takes place under the supervision and guidance of our barbeque expert and his chefs, crowned the British barbecue champion and has even cooked for the Queen.

This unique ‘Hells Kitchen' style event requires teams to compete in creating three delicious courses, all of which (yes, including desserts) will be cooked on the BBQ.  Your team will go home having learned the special techniques which could turn guests into expert barbecuers too.

Format:
The day begins with a coffee and warm chocolate brownies (cooked on the BBQ) for guests to enjoy while our chief barbecuer talks through the history of barbequing and an introduction to different types of dishes cooked on the barbecue.

You'll then go through the day's recipes (about eight) carefully selected to illustrate the styles of live-fire cooking and all the food groups you can cook on the grill.

Teams do the preliminary food preparations under the supervision of our chief Barbecuer. Then everyone goes out to the spacious "burn" area where the real fun begins.

The selection of barbecues that you'll use range from the king of grills, the Weber Ranch and Summit gas grills to smokers of all sizes and shapes.

While steaks sear, chickens roast, ribs smoke, pineapple turns on a spit, and fresh vegetables roast in glowing embers, the barbecue instructor will explain the finer points about the art and science of grilling, barbecuing, and smoking.

During the session you'll also learn how to build the perfect fire for cooking and you'll make delicious rubs and barbecue sauces to go with your dishes.

The class culminates in a belt-loosening lunch/dinner of the day's specialties and you can be guaranteed an unforgettable barbecue education.

Your teams food will then be judged by our Chief Barbecuer based on a range of factors which include appearance, hygiene, taste, creativity, quality and most importantly teamwork. Prizes will be given to the winning teams.
