Overview:
A high energy, high impact learning experience for your team set in a fun and unique environment. The objective is for the group to work as a whole to design, produce and market a giant board game. Teams do not instantly work out that it's essential for them to work together and this gradual realisation culminates in a "light bulb" moment and the penny drops. The event culminates in a giant group activity where they all get to play a game of their own creation.
The activity takes on so many different elements and disciplines it will be essential for all teams to use their individual skills to come together successfully as one big team. Teams are forced to be as productive as possible with limited time and resources. Participants will experience the benefits of teamwork, planning, setting goals and taking necessary risks.
Throw a six to start addresses key team problems and facilitates learning in a fun environment. Guests will realise the importance of improved team work and productivity. Participants are placed in circumstances with limited time and resources and must rely on their team to achieve their goals. The pressures and diverse demands experienced are similar to those experienced daily in a hectic work schedule. Participants contend with deadlines, a perceived lack of resources, others' point of view as well the pressure to work within the constraints of a variety of roles and personalities.
The Scenario:
Teams have to design, produce and market a giant board game. Tasks include purchasing of key parts from the wholesalers, re-enacting parts to the story line and solving challenges and puzzles to gain more information and equipment. Design, pricing, production are on the product teams task. The boardroom buzzer is sounded to begin project meetings at key points within the event to allow evaluation of team work, change management, areas for improvement and facilitation.
Each team will have a list of key responsibilities within a tight timeline which will be essential to their and more importantly the teams success. It will become clear as the event evolves that it is impossible for the teams with the time and resources to produce the board game in their individual teams and will discover the aim is to produce a final product together as one team.
