This is a top drawer professional shooting school based in the Derbyshire countryside. The instructors are superb at getting the best out of novices, so it won’t be long until you’re pinging away at targets of ever increasing difficulty. (They will start you on easy targets, so watch for your mate who gets a bit cocksure after a couple of hits on the first stand – he’ll crack under pressure when the heat’s turned up!).

All told you’ll rotate through five traps, shooting five targets at each one. It’s surprising how quickly you improve, by the end you will hopefully be going for two clays at a time.

The whole competition will be scored, either individually or on a team basis, so watch for the cocksure one, he’s likely to be a bit crestfallen by the end of the session.
