Ready, aim, fire!Ever fancied getting your hands on a shotgun, setting your sights down the shiny double-barrel and scratching that itchy trigger finger of yours? Yes? We thought so! Qualified instructors will help you maximise the carnage inflicted on your clays.Included:- 200 shotgun cartridges per group- 200 clay pigeons per group* Just ask if you require more!
Onwards and upwards:Although it was very confusing trying to figure out quite just what Rocky Balboa was doing scaling mountains and what had happened to his fighting career, Cliffhanger reminded us all that climbing is cool.
Whilst you won't be swinging one-handed from a cliff face sneering and slurring your words, these rockfaces offer a great challenge. After getting some hot tips on climbing techniques and having a practice at low level, participants pair up within the teams with a climber and a "belayer". The climber scales the wall to get maximum points for height achieved while trusting the belayer to keep them on that rope. Don't worry; a qualified instructor will be watching like a hawk.Excellent fun incorporating some good old fashioned exercise, this should make you feel better about the 20 odd beers followed by the soggy kebab you're bound to encounter in the early hours.
Duration:- Full day (includes 2 x 3 hour activity sessions and a packed lunch)
Notes:We can also run indoor climbing sessions depending on the weather conditions and needs of the group.
Where are we?Get into the team spirit and race against the clock using your map-reading skills to navigate you to various checkpoints dotted around the beautiful country scenery. Bragging rights go to the quickest and most efficient team while the losers scratch their heads and argue about who lost the map in the middle of nowhere.Duration:- Full day (includes 2 x 3 hour activity sessions and a packed lunch)
Get pedalling:Mountain biking is a very popular activity for anyone who can already ride a bike and has a reasonable level of fitness. A mountain biking session would usually consist of a quick look at your personal riding skills and a short introduction to some new skills that will be useful on a ride. The ride would then be over rough terrain with some very fast sections of downhill biking and some very slow technical downhill sections demanding your every care and attention. The rides will be tailored to meet the needs of the group accordingly.

Gorge yourself:Gorge scrambling involves exactly what it says on the tin - scrambling through gorges. A top activity for the adventurous who have harbored a fascination for clambering over rocks, climbing through wet crevices and jumping into plunge pools ever since they watched 'The Goonies' all those years ago. You'll need to have a basic level of fitness but the guide will look after you and tailor the activity to match the capabilities of the group, especially if some of the guys have beer bellies that have seen a 'truffle shuffle' or two.Duration:- Full day (includes 2 x 3 hour activity sessions and a packed lunch)Notes:- The gorges used are in a variety of locations around Lancashire, Cumbria (The Lake District) and Wales.
Into the dark: Caving is an especially popular activity for all year round. It's a great activity when the weather is miserable because it is inside and is surprisingly warm in the wintertime. Caving involves walking through underground passageways created over hundreds of thousands of years by the wearing away of soft rock types such as limestone by water.
Caving is about exploration, challenge and discovery. Explore the many subterranean passageways and caverns; challenge yourself to squeeze through small holes and tight spaces and discover geological features that you can see preserved by the underground environment that you will never find replicated on the surface. Duration: - Full day
Paddles to the ready! These two man canoes are completely open topped similar to the ones used by Indians or Canadian Trappers. If your compadre fancies himself as a bit of a joker, you'll be at his mercy as a few well timed rocks could send you tumbling into the wet.Duration:- Full day (includes 2 x 3 hour activity sessions and a packed lunch)
Bullseye! Robin Hood was cool (no, not the Kevin Costner version) and William Tell was only a Granny Smith away from lodging an arrow through his son's noggin. With heroes like this in England's rich history who wouldn't want to pick up a bow and arrow, take aim and shoot 2 foot wide of the target to the heckling jeers of their compadres. With steady handedness a prerequisite, those who've had a heavy one the night before will be pulling their arrows from the dirt. Luckily you'll have competition standard bows to use and instructors to help you to get to grips with them so you might just nail that bullseye. After a short practice it's competition time with the victor doubtlessly thrusting his bow skyward in jubilation, cheering and grunting like a Neanderthal who's just floored a Sabretooth on the hunt.
