Event Overview:
The karting grand prix is the staple diet of most stag dos and group events – and for good reason. The grand prix event provides excellent value for money and never fail to entertain, however many times you have done it. The venue has electronic lap timing to enhance each race and ramp up the competition element. If you fail to win the race you can always get as much satisfaction by setting the fastest lap time.
The Track:
A challenging 550m indoor track with a 90m straight, tunnels, a bridge and an underpass, this track is one of the biggest in the north of England.
All karts are tested weekly to match them for speed so there can be no arguments over having a better kart!
The Race Format:
Endurance Race
The endurance race format is a team event (generally 2-3 to a team). The object is to cover the greatest number of laps in the allotted time. Each driver spends approximately 25 minutes at the wheel (including 5 minutes practice), which means that in teams of three the race itself will be one hour long. All teams are on the track at the same time so overtaking, pit stops and strategy play a huge part in determining the eventual winner. A display screen near the pits keeps everyone up to date on the leaders and slowcoaches.
