There are a million and one things to do in and around Sheffield during daylight hours: quad biking, paintballing and off road driving to name but a few, all within a short driving distance from the city centre. Which, of course, means that afterwards you'll be ready to enjoy a hearty meal and sample the delights of what the pride of Yorkshire has to offer.

it’s no surprise that a place that gave birth to legendary rockers Joe Cocker and Def Lepperd would be a top notch selection for a Stag Party Weekend. Compared to other cities, Sheffield offers impressive scenery and open spaces to enjoy. There are estimated to be about 2 million trees in Sheffield - where 61 percent of the city’s geographical area is green space - more per person than any other European city. There is a diverse and energetic student population among two universities that ensures Stag Parties will be well-served by drinking and dancing establishments geared for an epic night out.
There are numerous bus services operating in Sheffield, but the city’s suburban and inter-city rail system is somewhat lacking in comparison to other English cities of comparable size. There are, however, some train routes through the city and surrounding countryside that could prove useful to a Stag Party in Sheffield. Although hilly, much of the city is compact and well-suited to bicycling for those inclined in that direction.
Must See/Must Do:
• Take in the gardens - The Sheffield Botanical Gardens are south west of the city centre and date to 1836. The site includes a large Victorian era glasshouse. The Peace Gardens, located across from the town hall, form part of the Heart of the City project. The site is dominated by water features including the Goodwin Fountain that is comprised of 89 individual jets of water.
• Go golfing - What better way to spend an afternoon with the Stag Party mates than on the links. Sheffield and nearby Chesterfield boast four quality courses to choose from.
• Take in a game - Sheffield is known for having some of the U.K.’s most impressive sports venues and taking in a game with the mates is always great fun. Choices include football, basketball, hockey and rugby.
The area where Sheffield now stands was first settled thousands of years ago. Beginning in the 1740s Sheffield began along its way to becoming an influential industrial town. After several recessions, Sheffield is now enjoying an economic revival. Sheffield is the home of several musical acts and that has spawned a vibrant music scene.
