Overview
There is karting and there is ‘hold on for grim death bring a clean pair of underpants' karting. This experience definitely falls into the later. 390cc Thunderkarts capable of 70mph, on a race tarmac 650 metre floodlit outdoor track, make this the best karting experience you will get in the midlands.
Race Format
After a sign in and a race briefing, depending upon the numbers in your group and the number of other drivers in the race you will be split into teams of up to four people per kart.
You will then take part in a short practice session to get you warmed up with the handling of the karts and the circuit layout. The race will start after ‘gridding up', and then full non-stop racing, the winning team being the team completing the most number of laps within the allotted time spam. The race length depends upon the number of people per team - which is worked out by multiplying the number of drivers per team x ½ hour (eg if three drivers per team the race will last 1½ hrs, 4 drivers per team and the race will last 2 hrs). Therefore each driver will get approximately ½ hr behind the wheel.
The Karts
Built by Bill Sisley (recognised as the foremost karting expert in the UK with over 35 years experience in all aspects of the sport, manufacturing British championship winning karts for ten consecutive years) , these babies are no pussycats - full race spec 15bhp karts with 4 stroke Honda GX390cc engines. In the right hands they are capable of 70mph.
The Track
650m long race tarmac surfaced, with full run-off areas, marshals, changing facilities and electronic lap timing. The circuit has a series of very tight turn for high G force and a couple of open turns that can be taken flat out.

Duration
Depends upon the size of the race (see race format). Allow approximately 1 hour (for briefing, kitting up, trophy presentation plus race time). For Saturday booking the races are likely to be fairly large so most likely 1½ - 2 hours in duration.
