Nottingham activity weekends
Possibly one of the greatest urban myths of all time could be Nottingham's infamous 5 : 1 female male ratio. Still, if it was started as a marketing campaign by Nottingham County Council, it certainly seems to have worked. Although you should not expect ‘total’ female utopia, the number of nurse’s collages in Nottingham certainly means a fine bunch of lads will have plenty to entertain themselves with on a stag night.
Nottingham has recently received a lot of press as the UK's prime den of iniquity from the "Ban all drinking or this country is going down the pan" brigade - much as a result of the fact that it was the first UK city to relax its drinking laws - leading to a city centre with the highest density of licensed premises in the country - and party loving crowds to match.

Chosen primarily for its central location for many of our group, Nottingham offered pretty much everything we wanted for this event. It was fairly easy to get in and out of the city, the hotel was in a central location within easy walking distance of the venues for the evening and we had no problem finding plenty of things to keep us entertained throughout the evening (good variety of pubs, a comedy club, excellent curry houses and some interesting night-clubs).

Quick Overview:
You don’t have to be Robin Hood to sack Nottingham. A Stag Party is perfect to lay siege to this ancient city that has become a modern bastion of entertainment. All budgets and interests can be satisfied during a trip to Nottingham and the city - with buildings dating to the 1100s - has much to offer in its various activity districts. A diverse culture and two universities located with the city ensure that Nottingham has the goods for an unforgettable Stag Do.
Getting Around:
The word for transportation in Nottingham is ease. Nottingham is one of only a handful of English cities with a light rail system. Traditional rail services also link Nottingham with towns and cities in the countryside. Several bus services provide public transport throughout the city that will certainly be a good option for a Stag Party in Nottingham. The roadways in and around Nottingham are in good condition and not too highly trafficked, so driving in and around while on a Stag Party is also an option.
Must See/Must Do:
• Take in a race - Spend an action-filled afternoon at Nottingham Racecourse that is set within 280 acres of Colwick Park, and just 2 miles from the city centre.
• Catch a Cricket match - Trent Bridge, the home of Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club, is a famous cricketing landmark that is recognized as one of the finest Cricket venues in the world.
• Trent River Cruises - Organize a Stag Party on a riverboat that comes complete with two stocked bars.
• Nottingham Castle - Situated on a high rock, Nottingham Castle commands spectacular views over the city. Its history is chequered with sieges, murders and intrigue.
History:
Nottingham is famed for its inextricable link to the medieval Robin Hood legend, but it later became acclaimed for its lace making and bicycle industries. The area’s settlement dates to at least 600 A.D. when Anglo-Saxons ruled the land. In the 11th century, Nottingham Castle was constructed. By the 15th century, Nottingham had established it’s self as a trade center for religious figurines made from alabaster. With the Industrial Revolution, Nottingham’s textile reputation was established.
Nightlife:
A Stag Party in Nottingham will find after-dark satisfaction. The 2,500-capacity Nottingham Royal Concert Hall and 9,500-capacity Nottingham Arena attract the biggest names in popular music. For less mainstream acts, Nottingham has a selection of smaller venues including Ye Old Salutation Inn, Seven, The Old Angel, Rock City and the smaller sister venues The Rescue Rooms, The Bodega Social Club and Stealth. These venues, with their close proximity, make Nottingham one of the centres of live popular music in the UK. There are several well established areas of the city centre for entertainment such as the Lace Market, Hockley, The Waterfront and The Corner House.
Eating:
Several of Nottingham’s restaurants are noted in the Good Food Guide and one restaurant - Sat Bains - is Michelin starred. There is a wide range of cuisine available on a Stag Party in Nottingham that reflects the city’s diversity. Every September, the Old Market Square is host to the Nottingham Food and Drink Festival. The city is also well stocked with traditional pubs and modern bars that offer delicious fare for a Stag Party in Nottingham.
