Get the lads' competitive spirits fired-up by hitting this awesome outdoor karting track and determining once and for all who's the fastest on the tarmac.
The Track:
The 300m outdoor track is Blackpool's largest and features chicanes, hairpin turns, sharp bends and long straights. Each driver will be timed during their race and the results are displayed on an electronic leader board for all to see.
The Karts:
Ballsy Bullet Karts featuring unrestricted 200cc engines. The karts can hit speeds of 35mph, which is pretty swift when you consider that your arse is only a few inches from the ground!
Grand Prix Event:
The Grand Prix will test the driving skills of all involved, eventually whittling away the boys from the men until a final driving champion is revealed at the end of the session.
Groups are given a quick briefing and are decked out in overalls and helmets before hitting the track for some practice laps. Expect to be split into separate groups as approximately 4 karts will be racing on the track at any one time (this number will increase for larger groups).
The Race Format:
1 X 5 minute session of practice laps
4 X heats
2 X semi finals for 8 fastest drivers
1 X final for 6 fastest drivers
Drivers will be electronically timed to finally determine the fastest driver. The triumphant winner will receive a bottle of bubbly and a trophy, so expect plenty of smugness and bragging!
Duration:
Approximately 1.5 hours. Drivers can expect to get at least 25-30 minutes behind the wheel.
Endurance Team Event:
Test your concentration and stamina with this challenging endurance race. Drivers will get exclusive use of the 300m track during the race and will be split up into separate teams. Approximately 5 karts will be racing on the track at any one time (this number will increase for larger groups).
The Race Format:
Each team will select a kart and then participate in a few practice laps. A team leader will then be nominated and the format of the endurance race will be decided; it will be up to each team as to how much time in the kart/how many laps each driver will get.
Drivers will be timed and the team that has completed the most amount of laps at the end of the session will be deemed the winners and awarded a trophy and bottle of bubbly.
Duration:
Approximately 1.5 hours.
