Adrenaline High Ropes Day
Overview:
Set in the heart of the Irish countryside, this brand new facility is the largest high ropes adventure in all of Ireland. There's an epic day of fun and thrills ahead - Time to shake off that hangover by risking life and limb (not really - it's very safe) on an epic, high altitude series of obstacles to traverse - see off the 'Spider's Web', tackle your 'Tunnel Vision', sort out the 'Swinging Platforms' and get ready for the 'Rickety Bridge'! Don't forget to clip yourselves on - 14 metres is a long way down!
Once you're done on that, tackle the climbing walls - there are 4 different walls here, with 10 different routes to try your hand at - some for the beginners and the pansies amongst you, that feature a sloped wall, ranging up to the harder, expert routes for those who fancy themselves as a bit of a stallone 'Cliffhanger' wannabe. Just don't let go!
Then, you'll move on to the giant swing. Now, this isn't your conventional look-at-me-jump-off-the-top playground swing - this is a huge log with a few harnesses attached for your benefit! You'll get strapped in, then suspended 14 metres in the air. And then they mess with you. You'll hang, and hang until before you know it they'll send you soaring down, experiencing 3 G's as you get that funny feeling, the same as if you're going fast over a bridge in the car.
Then, try your hand at the skill every special forces agent needs - the rappel - you'll harness on, and be giggling things like 'Oscar Mike, Tango Tango' to yourself as you awkwardly hoist youself down this huge wall, desperately trying not to jerk yourself about too much, for fear of the harness cutting off the blood flow to the 'twins'.
Now, for the true thillseekers among you, there's the zipwire. Again - the experience of special forces throughout the world, you'll feel truly awesome as you clip yourself on to this huge 150m cable, step off the platform and soar into the distance - now, science lesson - gravity is the way this works. The heavier you are, the faster you go - just think about that next time you're reaching for the Pasty, fatboy.
Finally, as if you hadn't had enough excitement for the day, you'll get to try archery - an historic pasttime, invented by the romans, used to kill squirrels in ancient mesopotamia, as they were chewing cables that caused interruptions to the roman broadcasting federation's daily emperor's message of the day. Not really. In all fairness, the bow and arrow has been an iconic marker of man's ability and skill throughout the years - well - nearly 60,000 years. Take up the bow, and try to split your buddies' arrows in a battle of wits and ability. That's if you can even hit the target! And, as usual - Captain Useless buys the first round of drinks! Game On!
