Cardiff Dune Buggies and Clay Pigeon Shooting

Overview:
Treat your group to a fantastic, action packed day of activities that they will remember long after the wedding is over. Mix and matching your activities means everyone has the chance of glory, including you and the stag!

So, you’ll not only have a much greater chance of becoming a champion but it will also keep you out of the pub that little bit longer, meaning the lightweights of the group are still on board for the evening’s festivities.
Combine any of the activities on offer, all at the one site.

Format:
Power around the dirt track in a dune buggy and then dust off your shotgun and head out onto the shooting range to blast the life out of some imitation animals.

Dune Buggy Grand Prix:
Put your pedal to the metal and prepare to get dirty with a high speed dune buggy grand prix.

The Buggies:
These cars have a powerful 400cc engine linked to an automatic gearbox, a full roll-cage and all-round spring suspension making them very forgiving for the first-timer. There are only two pedals, an accelerator and a brake, so all you have to do is steer!

After getting kitted out and a safety briefing you'll have a couple of practice laps to familiarise yourself with buggy and track. Each driver then competes in 4 timed races of 5 laps (1/2 mile in length), with 4 buggies competing in any individual race. To prevent a mass pile up on the first corner, there is a staggered start.

To allow for any slight difference in kart performance, each driver swaps karts at the beginning of each race, so every driver will have driven in each of the karts. The winners get medals; the losers are the butt of all the jokes and should by rights get a round of drinks in for everyone.

The Track:
The 750m track is specifically designed to get the most out of the buggies, providing extreme racing in a safe environment. The dirt track incorporates bumps, humps and banked corners.

Included:
All safety equipment.

Clay Pigeon Shooting:
Experience clay pigeon shooting at one of the top championship shooting grounds in the country. Bring your best Barbour jacket out of retirement and test your aim with a 12 bore shotgun.

The instructors take pride in introducing novices to this entertaining sport, with the aim of making you a top marksman by the end of the session - well, at least blasting the odd clay!

You'll get to shoot at clays from 5 different types of trap which simulate the movement of different types of animal: ducks dropping onto a pond, bounding rabbits, cross flying pigeons and a herd of stampeding wildebeests.

A scoring system is incorporated into the event to provide an element of competition and provoke some post-match banter. Worst marksman shouts a round of beers for the rest of the group.

Included:
- 30 clays per person
- Expert tuition
- All equipment

Duration:
- Allow at least 2.5 hours for this activity.

Notes:
Please note that Shooting is not allowed on a sunday due to noise restrictions.

Notes:
- Don't forget to bring some sensible driving clothing that you don't mind getting dirty.

Shooting was great. Staff very good. Dune buggies... not much skill and couldn't see.. not so fun. Go-karting far better. They were hopeless at getting the split times right.
