Overview:
Caerdydd, or Cardiff to the less linguistically-inclined, is a bustling city full of the finest bars, pubs, clubs – oh yeah, and culture too. It boasts the kind of entertainment you’d expect from the Welsh capital, and by that we don’t mean tying sleds to two sheep and racing each other. Cardiff is a modern city with nightlife for everyone, from the discerning gentleman to the rowdy stag night boys, with a little extra for the hen night divas! Cardiff is a beautiful city, steeped in history, with an eclectic mix of new and old architecture.
Getting Around:
The city is largely a very flat area, with only steep rising hills to the suburban areas in the north, so no worries about staggering up or down steep hills when you’ve had a great Cardiff stag night! The Cardiff bus network will provide you with the fastest links around the city if you don’t want to drive, plus the one-day travel passes are very reasonable, at just three quid! The city is a pretty large place, so travel arrangements are definitely worth thinking about...
Must See/Do:
• Check out Cardiff Castle.
• Catch a match at the Millennium Stadium.
• Play 18 holes on golf courses worthy of the Ryder Cup just outside the city centre.
• Sample the finest selection of International cuisine in Wales.
History:
Since the previously-edwardian skyline was dramatically changed with the addition of the Millennium stadium, the city’s been renowned for its sporting nature. Home to Welsh rugby, the stadium symbolises the Welsh capital’s status as a ‘City of Sport’, and who could argue, given that its most famous exports include Ryan Giggs and Colin Jackson!
Nightlife:
Cardiff, being a capital city, has an extensive range of nightlife, with a wide variety of pubs, clubs and bars! You’ve got everything from cosy traditional welsh boozers, to more modern wine bars and gastropubs for those who are that-way inclined. For those of you that want to stay out until late and sample the early morning delights, Cardiff boasts some of the best clubs in Wales, such as Glam, who host live music from some of the best DJs in the country, or Oceana, for a more ‘traditional’ clubbing experience on your Cardiff stag night!
Food/Resaurants:
Cardiff is renowned for its class selection of restaurants and eateries, and plays host to some of the UK’s finest International dining establishments. So that’ll be a vindaloo and a few beers for you and the rest of the Cardiff stag party lads! If that’s not quite to your taste, there are many fine restaurants of different types, featuring all the kinds of food you can think of, so whether it’s a roast you want, or a roti, you can be sure that somewhere in Cardiff, someone’s cooking it up, waiting for you!
